Pillars of Eternity – Hero edition has a classic cRPG gameplay
Paradox Interactive decided to grasp the nostalgia hidden deep within our hearts. Pillars of Eternity is going to take you on a trip straight to the 1990s when isometric cRPG games were gods. Participate in dynamic battles with the system of an active pause, which allows you to plan your next move. Collect experience points and then carefully distribute them among many statistics like strength, intelligence or dexterity. Then finally, collect various rare pieces of equipment thanks to which you are going to gain an edge in the battle.
Explore an interesting World of fantasy mixed with a medieval technology
The game takes place in a brand new fantasy world, Eora. It is based on 16th-century medieval technology levels, where magic and power is determined by the quality of a person’s soul. The story which you’re a part of takes place in a small country known as Dyrwood. The protagonist in the story is a newcomer to the Dyrwood, who by pure accident was caught up into bizarre and supernatural phenomenon. Face the change and save the world of Eora. Explore deep and ancient forests, medieval cities, and other places, each with their own, interesting history.
Deep character customization
Just like in the classics of the genre, in Pillars of Eternity, you are also going to be provided with an enormous amount of possibilities within the context of character customization. First of all, you can choose from one of six races: Human, Dwarf, Elf, Aumaua (a race of large, semiaquatic humanoids), Orlan (which can be compared to Hobbits from other fantasy games) and Godlikes (humanoids with a divine spark). Each race specializes in other aspects and has synergy with different classes.
There are 11 different classes starting from basics like Wizard, Ranger or Priest to more interesting ones like Chanter or Cipher. It is already a lot of customization but it is just the beginning. During the gameplay (which is going to take more than 30 hours to finish) you will find endless possibilities of improving your own character. Who knows, maybe you will create a mage who is able to fight with a sword?
Create your own story
There are many different factions and communities and you can develop a distinct relationship with each one. Your reputation changes, based on actions you take towards each faction/community and their current conflicts. Thanks to the system of reputation, you can create your own story. During one gameplay you can be an ally of The Doemenels who try to regain their power, while during the second you might destroy them. Remember though, that NPC-s are going to react even to smallest of your decisions.
